The BMW National Cup in a nation-wide competition tailored to BMW Retailers and their VIP Guests. BMW Canada Retailers who actively participate in the PGA Scramble presented by BMW program will assemble two teams to play in the BMW National Cup Qualifiers. BMW Retailer teams from across the country will compete for the top spot within their region.

All BMW Retailer teams within their respective region across Local Qualifiers will be compared against one another in a ranking system of their team score against the course rating of the event they played.
Below is a sample of how the BMW Team competition works which is separate from the main program of the PGA Scramble presented by BMW.

Competitors will play the yardages as follows:
MALE competitors will play from the BLUE club tees. (May differ from event to event)
FEMALE competitors will play from the RED club tees. (May differ from event to event)
Golf Canada Rules of Golf – The Golf Canada Rules of Golf will govern all competition, except for those specialized Scramble Rules in place for the PGA Scramble presented by BMW.
BMW Retailer Team Eligibility – Each BMW Retailer Team will consist of one (1) BMW Retailer Host and three (3) VIP guests. Guests must not be employees of the Retailer or any company affiliated within the Retailer’s group of companies. Each player must have an up-to-date Golf Canada Handicap Index.
BMW Team Scramble Format – All team members may play from the teeing ground of each hole. The team then chooses the shot that gives them the best chance for the next shot. Each team member then plays from there and the process continues until the ball is holed.
Qualifying – BMW Retailer teams will be ranked based on the best score in relation to the Course Rating of the tees being used.
Three Tee Shots – A minimum of three (3) tee shots per team member must be used per eighteen (18) hole stipulated round.
Selected Shot – If the selected shot is in the general area (anywhere on the course, except any bunker, penalty area, teeing area or putting green of the hole being played) the ball must be placed within one (1) club length of the selected shot, no nearer the hole, and must remain through the green. If the selected ball is in a bunker or penalty area, the next shot must be played from that same area of the course, or from outside the area in accordance with the applicable Rule (penalties apply). A ball that is not on the putting green of the hole being played, may not be placed on the putting green, even if it is within one club length of the marked ball.
In a bunker, the sand may be raked prior to any ball being placed.
On the putting green, each ball must be placed within one putter head of the marked position and played from there.
Advice – In accordance with Rule 10.2a, players are not permitted to seek advice from anyone who is not part of their team, and must prevent anyone else from providing advice to any team member.
Indicating Line of Play – Except on a putting green, a player may not intentionally indicate the line of play to a teammate while a stroke is being played. See Rule 10.2b for an exception to this Rule. Penalty for a breach of this Rule is two (2) strokes. NOTE: At the Local Qualifier level only, if the first putt is missed by each player on the team, the next putt is conceded, for a maximum of two-putts per hole.
Standing on an Extension of Line of Play – Team members may stand behind one another while making any stroke.
Scorecard – The scorecard is to be signed by the team captain. It is the team’s responsibility to ensure the accuracy of each individual hole score and the selected player’s tee shot on each hole
